Dr. Lise Deguire is a clinical psychologist currently in private practice in Pennington, NJ. She is the author of Flashback Girl: Lessons on Resilience from a Burn Survivor, a memoir of her improbable and remarkable life, beginning with her survival as a 4 year old burned over 65% of her body.
A graduate of Tufts University, summa cum laude, she earned her Doctorate at Hahnemman/Widener University, after undergoing countless surgeries throughout her childhood. In addition to loneliness and physical pain, she endured ostracism and bullying (due to disfigurement,) narcissistic parenting, family dysfunction, divorce and multiple familial suicides. She is the lone survivor of her original birth family.
Dr. Deguire is a dynamic and inspirational speaker, whose life story is particularly well suited to talks on resilience, compassion, motivation and forgiveness. She has also spoken for national associations on the topics of disfigurement, sexuality, divorce and family dysfunction.
